Apple could have one of its busiest Octobers in years.
Current reports point to at least seven possible product announcements during October 2026, ranging from Apple’s long-rumored smart-home display to new Macs and an OLED iPad mini.
The first wave could arrive at a reported October 13 Apple event, where Apple is expected to focus on the home with a new smart-home hub, an updated HomePod mini and a new Apple TV 4K. A separate round of announcements is reportedly planned for the final week of October and could include new Macs and the next iPad mini.
But there is an important distinction: Apple itself has not yet publicly confirmed the October 13 event or most of these products as of October 6.
So this is what current reporting indicates—not a list of products Apple has officially announced.
Here are the seven products worth watching.
Apple October 2026 Products at a Glance
| Expected product | What is rumored | Possible timing |
|---|---|---|
| Apple HomePad / home hub | New touchscreen smart-home device | October 13 |
| HomePod mini 2 | New hardware, Siri AI focus | October 13 |
| New Apple TV 4K | Faster chip, Siri AI features | October 13 |
| High-end OLED MacBook Pro/Ultra | OLED, touchscreen, redesign | Late October |
| 14-inch M6 MacBook Pro | M6 chip update | Late October |
| M6 iMac | M6 chip, possible new colors | Late October |
| New iPad mini | OLED display, newer chip | October, exact timing unclear |
These timings come from reporting by Bloomberg-linked reports, 9to5Mac and MacRumors, not from an Apple event invitation.
1. Apple’s New HomePad Could Be the Biggest October Announcement
The most interesting potential product is not another Mac.
Apple is reportedly preparing a smart-home hub with a built-in display, commonly called the HomePad in reports. That name has not been officially confirmed by Apple.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman is reported to expect the device to debut at an Apple event on October 13, alongside a new HomePod mini and Apple TV.
The concept is important because it would give Apple a dedicated screen-based home device rather than relying on an iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or HomePod to control the home.
The device is expected to center heavily on Siri AI and Apple Intelligence.
That direction makes sense given Apple’s recent software work. Apple officially launched its much more capable Siri AI in September, with personal-context understanding, onscreen awareness and expanded actions across apps.
Apple first detailed the new Siri architecture and next-generation Apple Intelligence at WWDC26.
Those software developments provide a foundation for a dedicated home assistant, although Apple has not confirmed how the rumored home hub will work.
Is “HomePad” the official name?
No.
“HomePad” is currently an informal name being used in coverage of the rumored device. Apple has not publicly announced the product or confirmed its final name.
That distinction should remain clear until Apple actually introduces it.
2. HomePod Mini 2 Could Finally Replace Apple’s Aging Small Speaker
A new HomePod mini is also expected.
The current HomePod mini design dates back years, making it one of the more obvious Apple products due for a hardware refresh.
Apple’s present HomePod mini uses a full-range driver, dual passive radiators, computational audio and four microphones for Siri. Its official specifications also include smart-home hub functionality and sound recognition.
Apple currently sells the HomePod mini alongside the larger HomePod.
The reported October replacement is expected to feature newer internal hardware and a stronger focus on Siri AI and Apple Intelligence, according to 9to5Mac’s roundup.
Reports have also noted unusually long HomePod mini delivery estimates in some regions, which can sometimes happen ahead of a product transition, although shipping delays alone do not prove a refresh is imminent.
What we don’t know yet
Apple has not confirmed:
- The processor
- Speaker changes
- Exact Siri AI capabilities
- Price
- Colors
- Release date
So detailed specifications circulating before launch should still be treated as rumors.
3. A New Apple TV 4K Is Also Expected
The third product reportedly targeted for the October 13 announcement is a new Apple TV 4K.
9to5Mac reports that the new model could use an A19 or A19 Pro chip, gain Siri AI features and potentially arrive with an updated Siri Remote.
That would be a considerable processor upgrade over Apple’s current Apple TV 4K.
Apple’s existing model still uses the A15 Bionic chip and comes in 64GB Wi-Fi and 128GB Wi-Fi + Ethernet configurations.
Recent reports have also found signs that Apple has tested more advanced HomePod integration, including using four HomePods around an Apple TV for a surround-sound arrangement. That does not mean the feature is guaranteed to launch, but it could fit Apple’s broader home strategy.
If Apple introduces the HomePad, HomePod mini 2 and Apple TV at the same event, the bigger story may therefore be Apple rebuilding its entire home ecosystem around Siri AI, rather than three unrelated product updates.
4. A Touchscreen OLED MacBook Could Be Apple’s Biggest Mac Redesign in Years
The most consequential Mac rumored for October is a redesigned high-end MacBook Pro—or possibly a differently branded high-end MacBook.
Current reports point to several major changes:
- OLED display
- Touchscreen support
- Thinner design
- New Apple silicon
- Potentially a significantly revised chassis
9to5Mac describes the upcoming model as one of Apple’s largest MacBook Pro redesigns in years.
MacRumors has also reported evidence inside recent macOS 27.2 betas that could support touch interaction on a future MacBook. Software clues do not confirm the hardware or launch timing, but they strengthen the case that Apple is preparing macOS for a different type of display interaction.
This would be a major change in strategy.
Apple has long kept the Mac’s input model centered around keyboards, trackpads and mice while using touch on iPhone and iPad.
If the reports are correct, that separation could finally begin to change.
Don’t assume every MacBook Pro gets OLED immediately
One of the easiest details to misunderstand is that Apple may have two different MacBook Pro updates coming.
Reports point to both:
- A major high-end redesign featuring OLED and touch.
- A more conventional 14-inch MacBook Pro update using the M6 processor.
The two should not automatically be treated as the same product.
5. A 14-Inch MacBook Pro With M6 Could Arrive Too
Apple could also update the base 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M6 chip.
Unlike many other pieces of this story, the M6 itself is not a rumor.
Apple officially unveiled M6 in August 2026 and currently uses the chip in the Mac mini. Apple says M6 is its first 2-nanometer chip and includes a 12-core CPU, 12-core GPU and dual 16-core Neural Engine.
That makes an M6 MacBook a logical next step, although Apple has not announced one yet.
The current MacBook Pro family was updated in March with M5 Pro and M5 Max, while Apple also sells a 14-inch M5 configuration.
So buyers should be aware that an October MacBook update could affect multiple price tiers rather than replacing every existing MacBook Pro at once.
This is especially relevant for anyone considering buying a MacBook Pro right now.
Waiting until Apple’s October announcements are clearer may be sensible if you do not urgently need a new computer.
6. An M6 iMac Is Another Likely Candidate
A refreshed iMac with M6 is also among the most likely products for Apple’s second wave of October announcements, according to MacRumors.
Apple’s current iMac still uses the M4 processor.
It has a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display, a 12MP Center Stage camera and up to four Thunderbolt 4 ports depending on configuration.
Apple originally introduced the M4 version in October 2024, including new color choices and a nano-texture display option.
A move from M4 to M6 would therefore represent a two-generation processor jump.
Rumors also point to possible new color options, although the processor is the more important expected change.
Until Apple announces the computer, details such as pricing, ports, memory options and display changes remain unconfirmed.
7. The iPad Mini Could Finally Get an OLED Display
The seventh major product expected this month is a new iPad mini.
Reports suggest the new model could feature:
- OLED display
- A20 Pro processor
- Thinner bezels
- Revised speaker design
- Landscape-oriented front camera
9to5Mac currently expects the OLED iPad mini to be part of Apple’s October product activity.
MacRumors also lists the iPad mini among products expected this year, though the exact October announcement date remains uncertain.
An OLED screen would be particularly significant.
The current iPad mini, introduced in October 2024, still uses an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina LCD and the A17 Pro chip.
Moving to OLED could bring deeper blacks, stronger contrast and potentially a different display design, depending on Apple’s implementation.
But until Apple announces it, claims about final resolution, refresh rate and pricing should not be treated as confirmed specifications.
iPhone Duo Is Also Launching in October—but It Isn’t One of the Seven Rumored Announcements
Apple’s first foldable iPhone will also be a major part of October.
However, iPhone Duo is different from the seven products above because Apple has already officially announced it.
Apple introduced iPhone Duo on September 9. Pre-orders begin October 16, with first availability on October 23 in more than 70 countries and regions.
The phone has:
- 7.6-inch inner display
- 5.4-inch outer display
- A20 Pro chip
- Foldable design
- Dual-display iOS experience
- Siri AI and Apple Intelligence
Apple has also confirmed a second wave of availability in additional markets beginning October 30.
So iPhone Duo will make October busier for Apple, but readers should not confuse its retail launch with a new October product reveal.
Another Confirmed October Arrival: High-Memory Mac Studio
There is one more October Apple release that is already official.
Apple says the 512GB unified-memory configuration of Mac Studio with M5 Ultra will become available in late October.
The Mac Studio itself is not new for October—it was announced in August and began arriving in September.
Only that extreme-memory configuration is coming later.
This is another useful distinction because some lists count every October shipping milestone as a “new Apple product,” which can make the number sound larger than it really is.
When Is the Apple October Event 2026?
The date being reported is:
Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman is reported to expect an Apple event that day featuring the home hub, HomePod mini and Apple TV.
But as of October 6, this should still be described as a reported event date rather than an official Apple event date.
Apple has not yet published a corresponding announcement on its Newsroom confirming the event.
That could change quickly.
If Apple sends invitations or updates its Events page, this article should be updated immediately.
Why Could Apple Split the Launches Into Two Waves?
MacRumors reports that Apple may have two sets of product announcements during October.
The first would center around smart-home products on October 13.
The second is reportedly planned for the final week of October, though no exact date has been reported.
That second wave could contain the Macs and possibly the new iPad mini.
There is precedent for Apple spreading announcements across multiple days rather than holding one traditional keynote.
Apple did something similar in October 2024 when it announced different Mac products across a sequence of days.
That means readers searching for “Apple October event 2026” should not necessarily expect every rumored product to appear in one presentation.
Which October Apple Products Are Most Certain?
Not every rumored product currently has the same level of evidence.
Stronger current reports
These are repeatedly linked to the reported October 13 event:
- Apple home hub / “HomePad”
- HomePod mini 2
- Apple TV 4K
Reported for later in October
These appear likely based on current reports, but exact announcement timing remains less certain:
- OLED touchscreen MacBook
- M6 14-inch MacBook Pro
- M6 iMac
- OLED iPad mini
Already officially confirmed for October
These are not rumors:
- iPhone Duo pre-orders on October 16 and release on October 23
- 512GB-memory M5 Ultra Mac Studio configuration in late October
That distinction matters more than trying to turn every rumor into a definitive product list.
Should You Wait Before Buying a Mac or iPad?
If you are considering a MacBook Pro, iMac or iPad mini, waiting another couple of weeks could be worthwhile if your purchase is not urgent.
The reason is straightforward: several replacement or updated models are reportedly close.
This is especially true for:
- iPad mini buyers
- High-end MacBook Pro buyers
- Base 14-inch MacBook Pro buyers
- iMac buyers
The HomePod mini and Apple TV are also older designs, so prospective buyers may want to see what Apple announces before purchasing current hardware.
However, a rumor is not a guarantee.
If you need a device now for work or another time-sensitive reason, current Apple products do not suddenly stop working because a replacement may be coming.
What Apple Has Actually Confirmed So Far
As of October 6, Apple’s confirmed October hardware activity includes iPhone Duo’s October launch and the arrival of the 512GB M5 Ultra Mac Studio configuration later this month.
Apple has also already launched M6 in Mac mini, making further M6 Macs technically plausible.
But the following remain unannounced by Apple:
- October 13 event
- HomePad
- HomePod mini 2
- New Apple TV 4K
- Touchscreen OLED MacBook
- M6 MacBook Pro
- M6 iMac
- OLED iPad mini
Until Apple confirms them, these should continue to be described as expected or rumored, not launched or officially announced.
